teamcyberspeed is a group of individuals from varied fields that have been brought together to compete in point-to-point endurance racing throughout the Southeast United States, the Bahamas, and possibly Cuba.

The team has varied backgrounds in auto racing, sailing, and aviation. teamcyberspeed.com will track the adventures of the team chronicling different races and events.

In 2005 and 2006 teamcyberspeed finished 3rd in the Harken Endurance Sail Series Championship. In 2007, the team hopes to improve on the past series.

Steeplechase

Getting to the starting line is usually half the battle. In the case of the Steeplechase this year, it turned out to be THE battle. For the first time, team cyberspeed pulled out of a race before it even started. The winds were 25-30 mph with gusts to 40 mph which were too strong to run Supercat 20 Tall Rig with full sails. The team made an effort to reef the mainsail but had problems and were not able get the proper downhaul tension needed for the high winds. Once the team made it to the starting line it became apparent the high winds would destroy the sails over the 70 miles that day and elected not to start.
